About Me

Open yourself to the world, and the world will amaze you beyond your wildest dreams.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had two couchsurfing experiences, both were random (not being sought via the CS website) and very positive. I am intrigued by the couchsurfing experience and want to make it a part of future travels wherever possible. Especially during my friend and I's trip driving from Florida to California (~November 10-16th, via I-10).

Interests

Music, mountains, traveling, birding, especially when macaws and gaudy Amazonian birds are involved, guitar strumming, cooking, tree climbing, hiking, and the rainforest.

Music, Movies, and Books

Faulty Towers, David Attenborough's The Life of Birds & also love his other work, Werner Herzog is a brilliant director who always charms and amazes me with his work, dharma bums (jack keroauc), Pablo Neruda, Borges...& National Geographic is my favorite magazine of all time. There's a lot more that I could write here but time limitations will keep it short for now😌

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

not one to brag....
But climbing macaw nest trees at 100 feet up , and seeing the different layers of rainforest as I went up, then the blanket of trees as I rose above the canopy was nothing short of breathtaking when I was working in Peru. That, and being stalked by a jaguar. I've traveled, worked, and lived in a lot of interesting places, so there's no shortage of stories if someone wants to hear them!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A few good laughs, some interesting stories, and good conversation. I'm a professional birder (ornithologist), so plenty of knowledge is available for those who are curious, but I can keep the convo away from birds for company who isn't so keen on this subject. There's plenty more to talk about!
