ABOUT ME

I love to brush my teeth. It feels good. I will admit to walking around my house (and even sometimes my backyard) while brushing my teeth. My friends make fun of me for it. That is why I have super white teeth, partially receded gums, and subsequently, a 'colgate' smile. I love to be outdoors. I backpack, rock climb, windsurf, and surf. I was into sports, and played ultimate frisbee in college and did varsity track/volleyball for all four years in high school (can you tell yet I am an active person?). I love the outdoors, and constantly wish I were in Yosemite, but we can't all have that, can we. I LIKE PEOPLE! I LOVE TO LAUGH! AND TO MAKE FRIENDS! I sleep on my roof so I can watch the stars and the sunset over the golden gate bridge. I like long walks, tide pools, hot tea, and the color green. I LOVE GIRAFFES! Gosh there is so much I want to talk about. Lets meet up and talk in person!

I LOVE TO BAKE/COOK/EAT. especially carbs. and cheese. I am an avid foodie and mild alcoholic. I love drinking local California wine, and home-brewing beer (currently biased to IPA's, but trying to expand my beer appreciation horizons). Prone to spending mega-bucks on outdoors gear when good sales pop up.

Grew up on the California coast. I love long walks on the beach. Most people say they like long walks on the beach, but I like LONG walks. After an hour, people start complaining that they want to turn back. NO! An hour is not long enough! If you also like long walks ... contact with me - we will make it happen.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

woken up on the roof of my house, watched the sun rise over the eastern hills of Berkeley, gazed over the grey fog barely concealing the far red pillars of the Golden Gate Bridge, and knew that I was ALIVE.

DMT (dimethyltryptamine) is a schedule 1 drug - a psychedelic tryptamine used by some amazonian shamans to induce hallucinations. but we all have it to a small degree in our brains due to natural metabolic processes. meaning right now. you and i are committing a felony.

I am a total biology nerd. I know a lot about food politics - veganism, slow food movement, etc. (and the science behind it!), microbiology, nutrition/health (was the manager of a commercial grade kitchen/ food cooperative in Berkeley, California)... consider myself well informed in the realms of ecology, basic biology, basic chemistry... and IMMUNOLOGY! Love talking to people about this stuff.. pursuing my Ph.D in Biomedical Sciences this fall, and all about nerding out whenever I can.

I also worked as a Venture Crew/ Camp Counselor in Boy Scouts camps up in the Sierras. I am a competent outdoors(wo)man and can share a bit about plants/ecology of the California chaparral/ Sierra mountains, and of course, other fun stuff (I can build a mean campfire).

I want to learn about.. EVERYTHING! Whatever you are an expert/connoisseur/follower on, I will be an eager student all the way!
