Music - everything from Pergolesi to Phillip Glass. Some favourites are Shostakovich, Bach, Sibelius, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev, Brahms etc. Fan of opera and ballet too. I am interested in folk and national music, especially Eastern European and music from the Caucasus. Favourite artists include:

Teach, Learn, Share
Today I learnt 'Thank you' in Tadjik, tomorrow I might learn the meaning of life. For that I thank the interesting and diverse people I meet when travelling or shopping in my local market.
I can tell you about the number of times I was in mortal danger in Croatia as a child, teach you to crochet, quote some queer Russian proverbs, or demonstrate Georgian dancing.
