Hi there! We are Mathieu and Rachelle, two east coast Canadians/Acadians who decided to take a break from our corporate careers to pursue our love of travel and adventure. We started our travels in Aug 2018 and plan to go back home to Canada in Aug 2019.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had the opportunity to meet a few fellow couchsurfers when I backpacked across Europe in 2012. They were kind enough to welcome my friend and me into their homes : )

Our main goal is to connect with new people and to learn about new cultures/life experiences!

Interests

Matt is passionate about travelling, playing music, craft beer, and hiking. He loves playing guitar and loves the adventure of going on multi-day hikes. Rachelle loves travelling, personal development, music/concerts, meditation, yoga, walking, and anything that contributes to a healthy lifestyle.

Music, Movies, and Books

We like almost all types of genres of music combined: rock/classic rock, country, greatest hits/pop, indie, etc.

I love reading non-fiction and personal development books. A few of my favourite authors are: Gabrielle Bernstein, Jen Sincero, Louise Hay, Tony Robbins, Lori Harder, Brené Brown, etc.

Matt loves watching movies/shows e.g. Departures, the Office, Narcos, Argo, Breaking Bad, Semi-Pro, Tropic Thunder, loves just about any type of documentary, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I studied and lived in Mexico for 5 months during my bachelor degree and had the chance to live with a wonderful host family/travel across the country!

Matt did an 8-day trek in Atlantic Canada's wilderness! (the fundy trek was over 150 KM)
