关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Well I suppose in general, my mission is to be happy (that is to have good friends, be healthy, curious, have fun, and help others in some way...) Exactly how to accomplish this I'm still figuring out! Will probably always be a process...

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm a recent resident of Vancouver, British Columbia although born and raised on the East coast of the States. I enjoy riding my bike, rock climbing, long walks (urban and mountains), eating, knitting, and spending time with friends. And traveling to new places of course!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's been a couple of years since participating. I've been mildly transient in life lately, at least not settled anywhere that I could really host people. While I was in Pittsburgh I had lots of people come through for short term stays via globalfreeloaders and a CS account that I shared with a boyfriend (who is now an ex, hence the new profile for me and seeming lack of experience). I've stayed with hosts in several places as well, Ireland for 5 weeks with various people and lots of cities around the States. It's been a while and I'm excited to participate again! Although, to be honest, I am not in a position to start hosting again quite yet. Can meet up for coffee and such with folks coming through Vancouver though.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When I moved to California in 2011 that was my first time to move somewhere without knowing anyone. I was 27 and figured it was about time to throw myself into that sort of experience. I was there for a seasonal restoration job with a crew of four other people. We lived and worked together 24/7, except for our days off, but we tended to spend that time together as well. I saw many amazing things during my time in the Mojave Desert and exploring the nearby areas, but a moment that sticks out to me is when 3 of us decided to hike up Mount San Gorgonio early on in our time together. On the way down the other crew member met us to finish the descent via cayoneering. He was quite experienced, but it was a first for the rest of us! It was October, we had only known each other for a matter of weeks, and we were about to rappel down a frigid waterfall. It was awesome! With backpacks on and no way to avoid getting soaked we went down 6 or so pitches. Everyone was so positive and the experience was one of many that helped us to really trust and appreciate each other.
