Music, Movies, and Books
I love watching movies and probably watch a few too many! I'm a bit of a rom com girl at heart but enjoy pretty much anything as long as it's not too scary - last time someone tried to make me watch a horror movie I ran out of the apartment haha. Also Disney. Everything Disney. You are never too old for a Disney movie. I actually watched the Lion King last night, true story.
Music is a huge part of my life and going to gigs is one of my favourite things to do. My favourite artists (at the moment) are London Grammar, Bastille, Passenger, Washington, Florence and the Machine, Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver, Angus and Julia Stone, Ellie Goulding, Regina Spektor, CHVRCHES, Cold Play... the list goes on!
When I was little my favourite book was the Rainbow Fish. I liked it because the pictures were shiny. That was literally the sole reason. Now I read pretty much anything that happens to come across my path. Harry Potter is by far the series I've read the most and the one I have the greatest love for. My favourite authors during my high school years were Marlena Marchetta, John Marsden, Jodi Picoult, Philippa Gregory, Philip Pullman. I'm not so sure what my favourites are now!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going to Morocco as a 16 year old with a group of 11 other girls my age was probably the best travelling experience I've had. Immersing ourselves in a completely different culture was phenomenal. I'd really like to go back.
Travelling through Europe in Jan/Feb 2013 was also incredible. It was my first time travelling without my parents and I went to so many places that I've dreamt about for so long. Prague was my favourite city, Amsterdam and Berlin were pretty close behind. Belgium was my favourite overall country :)
At the moment I'm in the middle of another great adventure - a 6 month student exchange to Glasgow uni! It's been pretty wonderful so far. I'll keep you posted on how the rest of it goes
Teach, Learn, Share
I absolutely love to cook, especially desserts and treats. If you want, I'll cook you any number of brownies, cheesecakes, cookies, friandes... Pavlova is my Australian speciality :D (New Zealanders will try and convince you they invented it but they are definitely wrong hehe)
I can also teach you some cool science-y stuff? Haha I study Biochemistry and Genetics at uni and I really do enjoy telling other people about some of the awesome ways our world and bodies work. Often people aren't as interested as me which is also totally fine!
I love learning new things so I'm super open to anything you want to share! I've always wanted to learn guitar but a few people now have tried and failed to teach me anything (I'm pretty hopeless)....attempt to teach me if you dare!
