About Me

ABOUT ME

I was an ESL teaching assistant a primary school and teaching private lessons in Sevilla, Spain. I am now back in Pittsburgh, the city outside of which I grew up, but haven't lived in in almost 7 years. I manage a shop at a popular plant conservatory in the city. Still getting to know Pittsburgh as an adult--and it's been pretty fun so far!

Things I love: chocolate, boats, old things, books, boxes, old boxes, old books, old boxes that look like books , tattoos, Indian food, sea shells, strong women, silliness, wine, champagne, sometimes putting vodka in my wine ;), weird things small children say, Parks and Rec, Scrubs, surprising people, sound effects, wearing wigs, swimming, volleyball, mermaids, seafood....

Things I hate: old guys who are creepy towards women, homophobes, mosquitos..

PHILOSOPHY

"I never set out to become anything in particular, only to live creatively and push the scope of my experience for adventure and for passion€... If I only scrape a living, at least it's a living where I'm scraping. If there's no future in it, this is a present worth remembering." --Irish surf photographer Mickey Smith http://www.openculture.com/2010/10/dark_side_of_the_lens.html

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Cuzco, Peru for a total of 4 months as I worked as a excavation team supervisor at an archaeological site outside of the city.

I almost drowned when I jumped off a pirate ship into the Atlantic off the coast of Portugal.

Hitch-hiked and wild beach camped around Northern Germany.

Stayed for a week with a retired Italian American in his house in a tiny village off of Lake Como helping him build a pontoon boat.

Sorry..that was four.
