I'm pretty easy going and I like cooking and eating interesting food, preferably from countries that I've never been to and/or heard of. I teach EFL and have done for long enough to consider it a career, I guess.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't have my own home at the moment but I'll be happy to show people around. My couch will be up for grabs when I eventually do have one.

Just once in Tokyo.

Interests

Obviously I love travelling. I also like eating, water-related sports and walking and hiking. I love taking pictures, going to galleries, eating in restaurants and watching Art House films.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love everything from the Buena Vista Social Club to the Aphex Twin and my favourite authors are Salman Rushdie, Tom Robbins, JRR Tolkein, James Joyce, Haruki Murakami and Henrik Ibsen.

Some films I love are 101 Reykjavik, Festen, Princess Mononoke, Pan's Labyrinth, Lost Highway, Pink Flamingoes, LOTR and, I know it's not a film, but I love Twin Peaks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ONE amazing thing? Well, I guess sailing around the world on the Peace Boat was pretty much the most amazing thing I've ever done. To teach for an NGO and travel around the world to so many amazing countries, with so many amazing people was really special. To do that anyway would be amazing but to do it for a company whose policies you believe in is fantastic.

I love cooking and will happily teach and learn recipes. I want to learn how to surf too.
