About Me

Hi, I'm Radek. Actually, my name is Radosław and Radek is the diminutive. It confuses non-Slavic people very often. I was born in Poland and lived there until I was 15. Then, my family moved to Germany.

I am a rather jovial person who loves beautiful things. Many of them: music, art, poetry. Moreover, I love to discuss. A good dialogue is better than (almost) anything else.

I like to meet new people because they can show you life from a different perspective. In this way, you become enriched in terms of life experience, outlook as well as such things as cuisine or simple habits that make life better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Of course, everyone is on Couchsurfing to find a possibility of accomodation in foreign places. But that's surely not all.

In my opinion, travelling somewhere without living in a way in which the country lives, is poor. Imagine being in Brazil and seeing all the beautiful places but living the same way you live in your home country. Couchsurfing enables you to live in a Brazilian way when you're in Brazil. That way, it is much more fun to travel!

Interests

Plenty.

I play the guitar and I sing. Yes, I wrote some songs and made some music, you can hear some on http://www.soundcloud.com/radoskan .

Furthermore, I love to read. I read novels as well as poetry, and I love to discuss about it.

I am Buddhist and interested in cultivating the mind. Philosophical or religious topics (whatever religion) are so much fun to talk about.

Politics is a subjects which I follow very much as well, but I don't know if we should discuss political issues. Maybe I have to sleep on the street then! :P

And last but not least, languages. I love to learn languages. Phonetics is the best part about it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: my first beloved band was The Beatles. Now, I listen to pretty much anything and have favourite tracks of all genres. But the most genius one is the 9th Symphony by Beethoven. Or Le Sacre du Printemps (Danse Sacrale) by Strawinsky. Or or or...

Movies: sorry, I don't watch films.

Books: "Der Steppenwolf" by Hermann Hesse is my favourite book, but I admire a lot of literature. I love poetry, especially the modern poetry. "Faust" by Goethe is a masterpiece as well. We should certainly talk about books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote a love song for my ex-girlfriend and sang it in front of many, many people at a concert at our school which made her very, very happy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you German or Polish. Or playing the guitar. Or singing. Or writing songs.

I would like to develop my French skills at the moment. And talking about law or politics... always!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My songs? Some good dialogues? Generally, I will share anything I can share. Giving is more fun that taking.
