About Me

CURRENT MISSION

(New Entry) Love my family to the MAX!!! Serve my neighbor....To encounter what is alien to me!! sooo anything outside U.S.’s Pacific Northwest... yikes. Never traveled much until lately, but I love it. Tons of catching up to do!

ABOUT ME

I'm TAD!

PHILOSOPHY

Be happy... I aspire to be a spontaneous and good natured person. I live my life to squeeze every little bit out of it and enjoy myself while I am able. As long as I am righteous and happy with myself and kind to others I see no need for much else. I love to laugh! These past few years have been quite eye opening, a roller coaster filled with emotional soul searching. Now is the time to broaden my horizons.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I wanna help people and learn from them. This is such an amazing opportunity to meet great people. My home is open to any fellow traveler in search of a warm, welcoming twin mattress to bed down in while passing through the Pacific Northwest. I love meeting new people, so if a surfer chooses, I'd be more than happy to take them around my city to experience life in Tacoma, WA. Come chill... surfers welcome.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first learned about the couch surfing community less than a month ago when I was flying from SEATAC airport in Washington state to the Reykjavík airport in Iceland. This coincidentally was also my 1st international flight, which luckily enough sat me next to an inspirational traveler named Ryan. Ryan was on his way to Reykjavík to help build and start up a number of new churches with his fellow missionaries. Throughout the flight he was happy to let me pick his brain and he offered a lot of advice including the website Couchsurfing.org, "great for an up and coming explorer of the world." he said. Time for me to utilize!

Interests

Shaping myself into a better worldly traveler is my chief interest at this time. My secret plan is to save all the $ I can in these next 2 years. When I've put enough away to support myself for a decent amount of time, I'll start south and work my way north through Europe. I want to be able to take my time in every country I visit. This way I'm able to get a good feeling each areas unique culture. If it seems I want to continue after Europe then I will. When money starts running low I will be content with finding odd jobs and other work to get myself by. I want to experience a whole new existence!!!... Hasn't happened yet :) my wife will join me though.

My current activities of interest:
Running city streets long distance or hiking trails (with my dogs), Hiking through the local trails within the Puget Sound area, Camping in the many Pacific Northwest camping sites, Hanging out and playing with my dogs, Sporting events, Enjoying the outdoors, Chit chatting (talking a lot hahahha), Writing poetry, lyrics, sometimes even short stories, Reading fiction, I love to think outside of realities box, listening to audiobooks, Watching movies, Listening to all genres of music, Singing (not professionally), Cruisin around town on sunny days, Snowboarding up at the rad slopes in Washington, Checking out local musicians, Just taking time to relax and chill out, Eating WELL! etc...

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy sooo much! Some favorite musicians: Slightly Stoopid, Deftones, Sublime, City and Colour, Band of Horses, Ratatat, Gangstarr, the Roots and many more. Many favorite books and authors. I love Harry Potter and the Outlander series off the top of my head. I like to read fictitious books mostly, but an occasional historical novel or biography can be fun too. Steven Spielberg is hands down my favorite director.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Crazily enough that's a toss up between two events that happened only a month ago in Norway. hmmm... let's see... bus rolling near Nordkapp (North Cape) or the demonstration in Oslo turned riot. That's a tough one. Well maybe you'll just have to ask me :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all for the exchange of knowledge. Having a place to sleep in these new and strange locations is definitely amazing, but my interest is in learning from my hosts and the locals. I offer my services. Maybe I can share my love for free writing or outdoor activities. I'm not really sure what I would share, but I'd like to find out.
