About Me

CURRENT MISSION

making it

ABOUT ME

I recently learned how to knit and make jam. Grandmas of America...

it's on.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm interested in surfing, hosting, and making the future nomad base the now nomad base.

Interests

Theatre, community art, radio and movie-making, photography, education, books.

I really like people.

...also, the amazing sashaying sea anenome. Light of my life, fire of my loins.

Music, Movies & Books

I'm really big on any kind of music with good lyrics and strong voices, and I love playing guitar and singing. I always love hearing new music, though, and I don't know very much about music, so I would love to hear what you like!

I love Russian lit and 20/21st century poetry, especially Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, Wislawa Szymborska, Elizabeth Bishop and recently Kay Ryan. I also really like pop science. Ooh, baby. Don't give me the graphs and the data. Give me the -biographies- of the scientists. Yeah. No really, though, talk science to me.

Movies-wise: artsy movies, smart comedies, and thrillers that aren't too creepy. Imagine "When Harry Met Sally", but with high color saturation, long silences, and a heist.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I once waded with the ducks in Lake Lucerne.
