About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring creation, culture, and making a difference in people's lives

ABOUT ME

Born in Mexico, grew up in California (mostly) and moved back to my home town of Puerto Vallarta in the fall of 2006. Passionate and creative are ways that I've been described, and (I believe) are good descriptions of my personality. I'm detail-oriented yet easygoing. Worrying is a waste of time and energy. I love great hugs.

In general, connecting with people is a major motivator for me - you never know what kind of difference you can make in someone's life, even if it's just a smile you give to a passer-by. Life is too short to not live it to the fullest, and I feel making a difference is part of that.

I'm also very motivated by new experiences and physical activity - I'll try (just about) anything at least once. :)

PHILOSOPHY
Gratitude, love, accepting what is, and the golden rule. I live to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the original mission of CS as an avenue toward peace and understanding between people and cultures. The way it facilitates sharing and so many new friendships between people on opposite sides of the planet is—while not perfect—truly unique and wonderful.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first night in Thailand in early 2006, I crashed a couch in Bangkok via a friend I met through Hospitality Club. Since then I was sold on the concept. Mostly 'surfed' and hosted in Mexico so far, but have also met and become good friends with CSers in Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan and Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: ...about travel, self-improvement, productivity, entrepreneurship, epics like LOTR

Movies: my favorites are foreign films. Anything by Jean-Pierre Jeunet or Miyazake... ah. too many to list

Music: Basically anything performed with passion, a good melody and talent, although I am pretty picky when it comes to country and rap. With those, it has to be pretty old for me to like it. Right now I am listening to Lhasa de Sela, Mae, Stereo Crush, Pinback, Nikka Costa... the list goes on :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving!
