ABOUT ME

Hi! My real name is Robert but I go by Raffaello. I'm originally from Oklahoma but have lived and explored many places in the United States from Alaska to Florida to New York and California. I am half Native American (Creek) and half something else though I was not raised as a typical Native American. I am very much a nerd and have made excellent grades throughout my education. Needless to say, I really don't have a lot of friends and live a very isolated life. I do enjoy meeting people however and am not completely weird. Just too smart for my own good. Well, that is what people tell me anyway. I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and worked on F-15 fighter jets for four years. I separated from the AF with an Honorable discharge and am attending online classes at OU using my GI Bill. I own a condo in Anchorage, Alaska and some land in Oklahoma. My land is out in the country and I have a cabin on it but I get very bored being out here sometimes. It has its perks but I miss talking and meeting interesting people. Nothing but nosey farmers where I live and it drives me bonkers! I am an also an Atheist which, as a Native American, makes me a minority within a minority within a minority. But I'm content with my understanding of the world around me and have a plethora of books and education to back up what I know. The degree that I am working on is Natural Sciences. I have completed all of my core classes and lack only one basic course to fulfill my degree, Spanish II. This is what brings me back to couchsurfing. My Spanish class has been online but it is not working well for me. There is nobody I can speak to! All I do is learn, learn, and learn but what I really need is practice, practice, and more practice with real people. The OU campus has a language lab that I would like to utilize so I am needing a place to park my pickup. A parking pass at OU is 195.00 and I simply can not afford that at this time. I will also be sleeping in my truck (has a camper) and then biking to the gym for showers followed by attending the language lab until my course is completed.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the Northern Lights definitely ranks as one of the most amazing sites I've been able to experience. One time, A grizzly bear walked right by me while I was fishing. I think that was pretty amazing as well. And another time.....:p
