I'm a silly, childlike grown up with chronic existential angst. I like feeling happy. Things that make me feel happy are: laughing, expressing myself through words or music or painting, sipping beer, enjoying a walk in solitude, taking in the wonders of nature, and having sincere conversations.
I recently graduated with a BA in anthropology, minoring in Middle Eastern studies. I've been studying Arabic at a university level for 1.5 years and I'd like to focus on levantine Arabic although I've mostly been learning Fusha. My plan is to move to Jordan next winter in order to get beyond classroom knowledge.
I feel very passionately about human rights and I have been working with asylum seekers here in Iceland. I'd like to find a way to make a real difference but I haven't found my true "path" to doing it yet... since graduating I've just been doing things that make me happy and hoping the "plan" will just come to me. Right now I'm a ranger which basically means I'm the janitor and security guard for nature ;) I get to take care of the landscape I grew up in, where all my forefathers and mothers used to roam about, so that is pretty cool.
I'm living in Vatnsfjörður, in the Westfjords, until October but CS won't give it to me as an option to list my address.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I first signed up on CS I had heard it was a good way to travel for cheap... but then I got to know the community (and grew up a little) and found it amazing. I've been on a break from here for a good while, four years I think, and I'm hoping that this community hasn't changed from what it was. I'm hoping that I will be able to get to know some like-minded people and have a connection with you beautiful strangers!

Teach, Learn, Share
I know how to snap my fingers. Not sure if I can teach others to do it, though. It feels like it's something that has to come from within. Took me twenty-three years.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A happy outlook on life, good talks: I've got some serious listening skills.
