One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The dark blue of the ocean, the wind in your hair, the slightly salty taste in a warm summer breeze. Hearing gales of laughter coming from the den in your new home, your friends, having an amazing time, life is great. Joining them and being as high as a kite.

All of that was in my dream and ended when I woke up at home. Out of the blue I knew that this dream was about Cape Town even though I have never been there before. It somehow evoked an old memory of mine when I was a child and we went on vacation to the sea.
Eager to find out more about the paradise I just dreamt of, I asked Mr. Google about this breath-taking place. Highly delighted about what I found out I booked my journey two days after my dream and flew one month later to Cape Town, literally the city of my dreams.

I arrived in the middle of the night in the heart of Bo-Kaap in a seemingly small, white house, which is rather unusual for Bo-Kaap. Everything was new and exciting and I met my new housemates. But after the first high, I was overtaken by a sudden wave of tiredness.

The next day started the same way as my dream ended one month ago. My new friends took me to the Waterfront, I felt the wind in my hair, or to be precise it blew me away. I met new friends at the dinner before the first school day and it never ended. My first week was one of the of the best in my life, I was as if in ecstasy. The astonishing diversity of nature, the sunsets with a riot of colours and the quantity of open-minded people showed me what happiness, freedom and fulfilment feels like.

So, if you have a dream or desire, do not hesitate, hazard a risk and follow your dream!
Furthermore, I highly recommend it to everyone, it is just as liberating as the feeling you get, when you stand on top of the world at the Cape of Good Hope with your arms spread like a bird, feeling the wind, tasting the salty breeze and your heart is jumping because you are as happy as a child on Christmas and the only thing you can think of, is that you are the luckiest person in the world.
