Overview
About Me
I'm a 20 year old Canadian student currently on exchange in Scotland. I'm doing my best to take advantage of my time in Europe and experience as much as I can.
Some of my favourite things to do are watching live music or performances, trying new food, and dancing, although I value a quiet night in with a good book or tv show as well. I am fascinated by history so I usually gravitate towards museums when I’m traveling, but I love wandering around and finding things that are a little more unique or off the beaten path. I try not to plan too much so that way I have the flexibility necessary to take advantage of any opportunity that comes my way. I try to stay open-minded and spontaneous, and I’m always down for an adventure. I love to meet new people and share stories. I can be a little quiet and shy at first, but I value meaningful connections, even if they’re only for a short time. I try to look for the little ways that I can help or make a difference every day.
I’m from the west coast of Canada so I don’t speak a lot of French, but I learned a little in school and really hope to become fluent one day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm fairly new to couchsurfing but love the idea of getting to meet new people who have knowledge of the area! I love how it makes travel more accessible and provides an opportunity to make new connections with people from all walks of life, who I may otherwise never cross paths with. I had the opportunity to stay with a host family in Italy when I was 15, and since then I have valued the unique perspective you get when travelling that can only come from interacting and staying with locals. I love to listen to others stories and learn whatever anyone is willing to teach me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll listen to almost any music and love hearing new songs. I listen to a lot of pop, indie, and alternative music mainly but am open to anything, and love concerts.
I definitely watch more TV shows than movies, but some of my favourites are Get Out, Gone Girl, and The Princess Bride.
My favourite book is Autobiography of Red by Anne Carson. I'm a big fan of fiction and poetry, although I find that these days I'm reading more textbooks than anything else.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share
I can share my knowledge of the English language to anyone who may be learning or looking for a conversation partner, and I'd love to learn some phrases of your language in return. I also grew up Irish dancing and can teach you a basic step or two.
If you want to share a meal, I am more than happy to cook for us, although I’m definitely a better baker than cook. However, cooking together is one of my favourite experiences to share with people.
