ABOUT ME

I'm not sure how to describe my personality. Here are some adjectives that, at times, could be applied to me: open, friendly, laid-back, driven, quiet, sassy, logical, fun, creative, open-minded, adventurous, independent, resilient, brave, lazy, generous, selfish, shy, and accepting.

I am convinced that I am the luckiest person alive. I think that people are essentially good. I am dead-set on making the world a better place for as many people as possible. Airports make me giddy. So do cacti. Nerdy things fascinate me. I am a horrible driver. I love backpacking, hiking, caving, camping, and rock climbing. I think that broccoli and sweet potatoes are the best inventions ever. Whenever I am nervous, I sing badly and loudly. I can't cross my fingers.

PHILOSOPHY

I want to make the world a better place for as many people as possible in my lifetime.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm joining the CS site in hopes of meeting travelers as they pass through and maybe traveling to a new place and getting to know exciting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was extremely skeptical of the concept until my friends Richard, Justin, and Tess dragged me along to Milwaukee with them to do some couch surfing. Now I'm hooked! And I'm here!

I read a lot and I read across many genres. I find it hard to pin down a "favorite" book or even a handful of favorites just because my enjoyment of a book depends so much on where I am in my life and what's going on around me.

Movies are difficult for me because of my short attention span and fidgety energy.

If you are falling out of an airplane and you don't have a working parachute, you should aim for land- not water. Water is functionally incompressible and so will be more likely to smoosh you.

I could take you rock climbing, backpacking, or possibly caving! Or I could help you with your physics homework. I could show you around Minneapolis, MN or Bloomington, MN or teach you how to do flips off a diving board. I could teach you to use AutoCAD or EPAnet software.
