About Me
Life is a book, those who do not travel read only a page. I host in Glasgow and travel to explore the world whenever I can. Life is too short not to be lived! People bring perspectives. Others can speak better of you and your city, this is what I realised after hosting on CS as much as exploring other cultures staying with other hosts across our shared planet.
Look, Couchsurfing isn’t just a bnb. If you’re just here for free Wi-Fi or shower, you’ll be disappointed. But if you are walking the West Highland Way or doing something cool or interesting, want to explore a wee bit of city life in Glasgow on your way to the unspoiled landscapes of Scotland, like the idea of cooking something edible (results may vary), trading stories that get funnier the more wine is poured, or debating with my neighbours whether Edinburgh or Glasgow has better music gigs or a comedy scene, then you could be one we like to welcome. Think of my place less as an impersonal hotel, more as a badly managed comedy club. The food’s decent, neighbourhood pretty nice too, but the stories and banter usually unforgettable.
As a surfer I like to help out with your DIY projects or bring or help cook a meal - when I travel I’m full of energy so I like to bring that good vibe only. I really wanna learn about your city and go somewhere Google maps simply cannot point me to.
I host or surf typically -no more or no less than 2 days. If sending request, tell me something I didn’t know from your profile in message request maybe even something silly or funny for brownie points. I do apologise I am unable to respond frequently or to every message sent here. This is a little hobby, neither a sport, nor my job.
Have had fun expeditions with CS community so stay on in here. My IG: https://www.instagram.com/rajsark/
While I'm settled in Glasgow for years by choice, have been held captive thanks to work in other parts of Europe too, and equally been captivated by travel escapades that was not for work. Manage to host only infrequently, if I cannot respond back in time, please don't mind - it's not you, I might just be busy and occupied.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To share travel stories. Inspire and be inspired.
Note: Manage to host only once or so a month. Not that I don't want to more often, busy with many commitments.
If you're sending a CS request, make sure to put travel dates and tell us a bit about your trip to Scotland. Remember, around weekends only:)
Interests
Did I say travelling!
You cannot also miss my multifaceted personality. I like to see people follow their true passion. I don’t host often partly because I’m busy building AI by day, telling bad jokes by night (local standup), and pretending to be good at MMA. But when I do host, I like it to be about cultural and human connection. That means: conversations, shared meals, maybe a spontaneous adventure
