Hi! I’m Rakshit, a 19-year-old traveler from India currently based in New Delhi. I grew up in Haryana and I’m currently a student in Delhi.

Traveling is one of the most important ways I learn about the world. I love exploring new places, meeting people from different cultures, and understanding how life is lived in different parts of the world. When I was 18, I spent about two months traveling across almost the entire India, which gave me a deep appreciation for the diversity of cultures, traditions, and perspectives within my own country.

My long-term goal is to travel to every country in the world and hopefully become the youngest Indian to do so. For me, travel is not just about destinations — it’s about people, stories, and experiences that change the way we see the world.

I enjoy meaningful conversations, learning about local cultures, trying different foods, and hearing the unique stories of the places I visit. People usually describe me as open-minded, respectful, curious, and easy to talk to, and I truly enjoy connecting with people from different backgrounds during my travels.

I joined Couchsurfing because I believe the best way to understand a place is through locals who actually live there. Staying with hosts or meeting travelers allows real cultural exchange that you cannot get from hotels or tourist activities.

I enjoy learning about everyday life in different countries, hearing personal stories, and sharing experiences from India.

I enjoy listening to both Indian and American music. My favorite movies include The Avengers and the Fast & Furious series, and one of my favorite web series is Money Heist.

I also enjoy reading books, especially about personal development, finance, and mindset. Some of my favorite books include Rich Dad Poor Dad, Atomic Habits, and The Richest Man in Babylon. I like exploring books that help me understand money, habits, and personal growth, and I try to read regularly whenever I have time.

One amazing thing I’ve done was traveling across almost the entire India for about two months when I was 18. During this journey I explored many states and different regions of the country, which helped me understand India’s incredible cultural diversity, traditions, and ways of life.

Another meaningful experience was being selected for an internship at ITER Organization, one of the world’s most advanced nuclear fusion projects, where I had the opportunity to learn about complex scientific technology and work in an international environment.

I would be happy to teach some basics of languages like Hindi, English, and French, and also share insights about Indian culture, traditions, and my travel experiences across India. I can also share some knowledge about digital marketing, social media, and entrepreneurship. At the same time, I’m always excited to learn about new cultures, local traditions, languages, and everyday life in different countries. I enjoy meaningful conversations, exchanging travel stories, and sharing ideas about books, personal growth, technology, and the world with the people I meet during my travels.
