我做过的一件不可思议的事情

In 2019, I visited the city of Díli in the wonderful nation of Timor-Leste– the smallest and newest country in Southeast Asia. Throughout my 4 days there, I learned about the struggles, successes, and pride of the Timorese people by talking to folks who lived through decades of tumultuous change. As a multilingual country, I was listening to these stories and speaking in English, Indonesian, Portuguese, and Tetum (sometimes in the same sentence!). I had the privilege of staying in a traditional home and by pure luck, I ended up there during Easter. Because it's a catholic country, I was able celebrate a traditional Timorese Easter.
I hope to return one day soon, and I hope that you (the reader) visit this wonderful country !
