ABOUT ME

Hello. As you already know my name is Ramon. I am completely new to Couchsurfing, but I am very open to the thought of visiting, hosting and getting to know people from around this big/small planet. I am not accostomed or yet comfortable with describing myself within the confines of a text box. And it's actually a little difficult to resist the urge to describe myself generically, but I think generic is ok as long at it's true. Do I sound too formal?
Let me say that I'm a laid-back and mellow kind of guy unless I'm excited. I like to talk, unless someone wants me to listen. I prefer honesty unless there's a really good reason to lie. I like the sun and I like the shade, actually I think I prefer shade. I like colors unless monochrome seems more fitting. OK, enough, you say, well I couldn't agree with you more. The denouement: I'm a regular guy that 99.9% of the time enjoys being human.
Now to the meat of things. Speaking of meat, I like to cook - when I have time. And I like to eat - when I don't forget to. I am omnivorous.
My residence is at the Southern tip of Lake Michigan where lies a long strip of sandy beach. The location is about thirty-five miles from the city of Chicago, and there is a train station in my town for easy commutes to the city. The topography here is slightly rolling with lots of trees. My neighborhood is quiet.
My travels include: Amsterdam, Canada, China, Cuba(hush), France, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico and the forty-eight contiguous states of the U.S.

Movies, yes absolutely. I don't have anything against big Hollywood blockbusters but sometimes.... With music I'm all over the map. Books - currently reading some American History. I tend to favor short stories, maybe someday I'll write one - got any ideas?
