I'm Ramsay. I'm a Philosophy graduate from Lancaster University and I'm currently living in South Tyrol in Italy, where I'm working as an English teaching assistant at a German-speaking school in Meran. Next year I'm moving to the Canton of Fribourg in Switzerland to do the same job there.

Edit: Now I'm back in the UK, but soon moving to live in Groningen again.

I have a range of interests. I have a lot of interest in a couple of areas, such as Philosophy, Physics, Cognitive Science, Languages and Literature, but I also generally have an open mind to new interests. I always enjoy visiting new places and experiencing new cultures. I like experiencing the cultural and historical value in places, but also in experiencing the more modern life there, meeting new people and doing whatever fun activities are available. In terms of physical activities I like rock climbing, hiking, running, ice skating and skiing (although I only started learning skiing about six months ago).

I like reading a lot. I like books with a 'thinking outside the box' attitude, so I'm often drawn to Science Fiction or Fantasy, but I also read other genres. I also love books in the comedy genre. Some of my favourite authors include Terry Pratchett, Mervyn Peake, Hannu Rajaniemi, P.G. Wodehouse, Jorge Luis Borges, Neil Gaiman, Ursula K. le Guin, J.R.R. Tolkien, Isaac Asimov, Philip K. Dick, Homer, Virgil, Arthur Conan Doyle and Maurice Leblanc. My film tastes largely match my literary tastes.

My favourite philosophers include Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein, David Chalmers, John Searle, Epicurus, Laozi and Peter Singer.

In terms of music I'm kind of eclectic. I like Reggae, Classical, Baroque, Pop, Soul, old style Rhythm and Blues, Alternative Hip Hop, Industrial, Rock and Big Band Jazz and Swing.
