About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Looking forward to our second adulthood.

ABOUT ME

My wife Lee Ann and I love to travel and do so as often as we can. The experience of traveling is heightened by sharing local customs, traditions and landmarks with people who live in the area. Landmarks may be beautiful and the food delicious but the experience is richer and more meaningful with the people who experience them every day and can add an explanation or point out things we might not see otherwise.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have hosted bicyclists through warmshowers.org and realize that travelers don't always arrive to our door by bicycle! We would like to host other travelers as well and share this beautiful part of upstate New York.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have personally informally couchsurfed at friend and families homes throughout the states and Europe all our lives. Lee Ann lived with a family in Sweden for her senior year in Sweden as an exchange student, she was bitten by the travel bug early in life.

Interests

We have done some scuba diving in the Caribbean, Honduras and Belize. David bicycles sometimes for weeks. Lee Ann is an excellent cook and aspiring artist. She also loves gardening and we eat out of her garden- waiting patiently for raspberries to get ripe now.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

David saw a whale while snorkeling in Maui- and we saw whales making a bubble net to feed in Alaska- glaciers calving, fruit bats feeding at a hummingbird feeder in Honduras. Bryce Canyon- The top of Angels Landing in ZIon, Zip lines in Alaska, Having the Eiger Mountain in the hotel window, salt mines in Germany, David took an amazing photo of the pelaton as they rounded the corner by the Champs Elysees. Scuba diving off the booby sanctuary in Belize. So many amazing things in this world and so many more to experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

Gardening, art- in any form, cooking (bread baking), traveling. Long distance bicycling. Lee Ann wouldn't mind having someone chat artt with. We have snow shoes, bicycles and kayaks.
