Présentation
À propos de moi
I'm a French student in Evolutionary Biology. The aim: doing research in this field. I'm taking part of an international MSc programme in Evolution for the next two years. It's a partnership between several cities in Europe: Groningen (Netherlands), Uppsala (Sweden), Munich (Germany) and Montpellier (France). So I'm about to move a couple of times in the upcoming semesters! I just finished a first semester in Groningen and I'm about to move to Munich.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
(1) At first, because I had some housing problem while getting in Groningen. I know it's hard for some students to find some accomodations in many cities. I know many of them need a place to stay until they find an accomodation. Some people think they are just looking for a couch, and that's true. But it doesn't mean you can't share anything "cultural" with them. Some hosts usually want to share their culture with their guests, but they don't want to host students with housing problems. What's the point? These students are often coming from all over the world, so is there any better way to have a cultural exchange with people? I don't think so.
That's mainly why I'm on CouchSurfing: to help and be helped when needed, in a network of people who understand that moving far away from you home country may be difficult.
(2) Holidays can be fun when spent in locals' places :)
(3) Once settled, I'll be able to host people as well!
Centres d'intérêt
Of course I'm fascinated by my field of work: evolution, and all kind of scientific stuff that may be related to the history of life on Earth. But I'm also fond of: sports (Mixed Martial Arts, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), cooking, nature, the world, people... Basically, I like to learn :)

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
Music: old rock and metal bands (Scorpions, Status Quo, Led Zep, Anthrax, Metallica, Nirvana...), but also some more recent rock bands (Nickelback, Rise Against, Offsprings...). In general, I like the musics "of the world" (like traditional South American, African, Celtic, Asian).
Movies: hmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Many things, but especially tragic movies related to History (Schindler's List, The Pianist, 12 Years A Slave, The Buttler...).
Books: Wonderful Life: The Burgess Shale and the Nature of History, by Stephen J. Gould and A Brief History of Time, by Stephen Hawking. Those are well written vulgarisations of science, I recommand them to anyone, no matter your background, they're fascinating!
