About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to understand myself and my environment through the cloudy haze of media madness and social structures I never could grasp.

ABOUT ME

I'm Grace! I'm 19 and am currently going to school at Beloit College in Beloit, WI. I'm studying studio art and women and gender studies, two things I'm infatuated with. I love adventure as well as simple pleasures. While I'm still young, broke, and in school I want to travel, host, and meet people I resonate with and can learn from. Cigarettes, Rabbits, Paint, Christmas lights, Biking Late with Night Fright, Short Stories, Russian Lit, Haikus, Pokemon, Mismatched Socks, Black Coffee Breath of Death, Cats, Unexplainable Fits of Melancholy, Avacados, Thrift Stores, Found Art, Punk, DIY, Live Music, and Sequins are some things I like.

PHILOSOPHY

Ever-changing as I grow. Open mind, open mouths, open hands, open ears. We all have something to learn and gain from one another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

While in school I want to be able to bring musicians, bands and artists to my school to perform and build relationships with, and to give my student body a taste of what motivated individuals have to show, teach, offer. I'm trying to book house shows for the Music Club on campus, and create events for students to be able to attend and benefit from! Beloit, is also a convenient stop for people traveling to/between/from Madison, Milwaukee, or Chicago!

Beloit may not be the biggest city on the map, but its well worth the visit to engage in the college community! The students here are eager to hear your wild philosophies, see obscure talents, and engage in meaningful discourse.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new! I haven't had any official CS experiences, but have stayed on three peoples couches in Madison, Milwaukee, and Cleveland. All of these experiences gave me a grateful heart for the kind people who let me stay with them and be a part of their life for a time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to make simple books, how to knit (a scarf), how to make a zine, a mean collage, how to draw and fall in love with blind contours, how easy it is to be vegetarian, and how to be terrible at guitar (useful for punk bands).

Being on a college campus also means that there are over one thousand students here willing to teach and learn and engage in whatever you are interested in!

I'd like to learn how to play flute, how to silkscreen, basic sewing skills, about urban gardening, about absurdism and surrealism, and whatever you're passionate about!
