About Me
Hola! I'm Raquel, originally from Spain but recently spent 6 amazing years living in Iceland. This year, my partner and I decided to take a leap and go on a long-term travel and volunteering journey, discovering new places, people, and ways of life along the way.
I’m curious, friendly, and easygoing. I love meeting people from different cultures, sharing stories, and learning from each other. That’s a big reason why I’m on Couchsurfing. Whether it’s exploring nature or the city life, dancing to new rhythms, or enjoying a chill afternoon with a good book, I’m usually up for it.
In my past life (not so long ago!), I worked in digital marketing and community projects. I even co-organized a multicultural festival in Iceland that brought people together through food, music, and dance. I enjoy hiking, yoga, going for walks, and getting involved in whatever local life has to offer.
At the moment I don't have my own place so I can't host, but I'd love to connect with fellow travellers and kind locals around the world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would love to meet local people, make new friends and do plans together!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a pretty varied taste when it comes to music, movies, and books. I like to keep things interesting!
I listen to all kinds of music. I used to be a proud metalhead back in the day, but my taste has definitely expanded over time. Now you’ll find anything from rock to Bollywood hits, world music, pop, and chill playlists in my queue. I love discovering new artists and sounds, no matter the genre.
I'm more into TV series than movies. Some of my favorites are Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Black Mirror, Stranger Things, How I Met Your Mother, and Criminal Minds. A pretty random mix, but all great in their own way!
When it comes to books, I read a bit of everything. I’m a big Harry Potter fan (always!), but I also enjoy biographies, novels based on real stories, and books about different cultures, religions, or ways of seeing the world.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left everything behind to follow my dream of travelling and volunteering abroad, not once, but twice! The first time I did it solo, and now I'm on a new adventure with my partner. Both experiences have been life-changing in different ways, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love sharing stories, travel tips, and the little things that make each culture unique. I can teach you some basic Spanish (or Icelandic phrases if you’re feeling adventurous), show you a few dance moves, or recommend a great book or playlist.
I’m always curious to learn new things or just hearing about how people live and see the world. I believe every conversation has something to teach.
And if we share a space for a bit, I’m happy to spend time together, go for a walk, or simply hang out and exchange travel stories over a cup of tea.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m always up for good conversation, whether it’s about travel, culture, life, or just random topics over coffee or a walk. I’d love to share travel tips and stories, explore the city together if you’re free, or just chill.
I can also offer a language exchange: Spanish from me, or Polish from my partner (he’s happy to help too!). We’re respectful guests, easygoing, and always grateful for the kindness of hosts.
