About Me

I'm from Brazil, currently studying in Latvia!

I'm an aspiring Econ major passionate about literature and learning new languages. I'm proud to have learned English on my own and French in a short(ish) amount of time. I love to read, and some of my all-time favorites are The God of Small Things and One Hundred Years of Solitude. I think it's a wonderful way to meet different cultures even when you can't travel. I enjoy journaling and meditating, and have made it a daily habit.

I also find a lot of joy in volunteering, and I am a trainee facilitator at the Latin American Leadership Academy and a student counselor at Teach for All.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've always loved getting to know new people and places – and now that I'm starting to travel solo, I can do both at the same time! I've found that visiting new places is much more meaningful when you explore it with someone who lives there – you get the historical and cultural background, but also fun, personal stories of how they came to know that place. I'm here because I want to find someone that would like to share their culture with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to Latvia on my own!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
- How to speak Portuguese!
- Very random facts on Brazilian history and culture – did you know we invented the airplane? (I swear it's true)
- I'm not very used to cooking, but I can try my best to cook a Brazilian dish!
- How to read tarot!

Learn:
- Your favorite recipes :)
- Belgian culture and history
- French expressions (and practicing speaking!)
- How to be a good lodger – what is customary that I do when staying at someone's place, how can I make the experience better for both of us?

Share:
- Favorite movies and series
- Philosophies on life and what it means to be human
- Favorite memories :)

What I Can Share with Hosts
