About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To grow things, learn more, enjoy the simple things while marveling at the grand things.

ABOUT ME

I'm a farmer, I work for a goat micro-dairy where I milk around 40 goats, and I manage the vegetable gardens for another farm who I'm helping to transition to organic
practices. I have a little bit of (much needed) down time each fall/early winter. During that time I like to travel to far off lands, where I usually spend most of my trip volunteering on farms, cause farming is really a kind of sick yet wonderful addiction. This fall I'm heading to Ireland for a little over a month, I'll be spending most of my trip volunteering on a chicken farm but will spend the first week or two traveling around, seeing the sights and hopefully having some amazing experiences with some wonderful people.

A few other general tid-bits about me; I am an amateur aerialist I practice with the Lyra and the split silks, still very much an amateur but I have fallen head over heels for these activites. I love cooking and am alway happy/excited to share recipes. Time alone with a good book and a cup of coffee will always make my day. I can be quiet and shy at times or goofy and a bit wild, all depending on the situation, but I always try to be kind and courteous toward the people around me and appreciate individuals that do the same. In general, I'm pretty laid back and though I sometimes plan things out, I'm much more of a go with the flow type of person. And I always travel with at least one of my collapsible hula-hoops, cause you never know when the urge to hoop will strike. Well, that seems like a good end point.

PHILOSOPHY

Try to do the best you can, try not to harm anybody while doing it and be sure to enjoy what you're doing, whatever the task joy can be found in it.

I don't always succeed here but I'm still trying.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to really participate, this is my first foray in couchsurfing. I'm hoping to find people to explore Ireland with, potentially make some friends and upon returning home I hope to have a couch I will be able to offer to travelers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love books! Far too many to list but a few of my favorite authorsauthors include but are certainly not limited to; Neil Gaiman, Barbara Kingsolver, Douglas Adams, and Kurt Vonnegut.

My taste in music is eclectic, I like most genres but detest American county music. Lately, I've been listening to a fair amount of folk, electronic and indi rock. I love live music and do not see nearly enough of it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

That's a little hard to narrow down and somehow feels a bit like bragging, but if things come up in the natural flow of conversation, I'll happily share.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give gardening advice, if there's a goat handy, I can teach you how to milk them (unless its a male goat then all bets are off).I always have a hoop with me when I travel so if you'don't like to learn a trick or two, I'd be happy to oblige. My recipe book and journal are one in the same, so they are always on hand if you'd like to try something new.

As for me, I love learning! Whatever knowledge you'd like to share or skill you'd like to show, I'm happy to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Guatemala, Madagascar, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
