I think we each cross paths in life to learn something from each other and something new about ourselves. It would be amazing to create some strong connections with families around the world and welcome them in my home or visit them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to host friends and like to learn from others people especially people from different parts of the world. This seems like a great idea and am looking forward to connecting with families around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have no couch surfing experience so far. I did host an Au Pair in my house for two years and been doing home exchanges for years.

Interests

I love hiking, yoga, rock climbing, biking, exploring new places, trying new food, cooking (all kinds of cuisines), thought provoking conversations, beaches, parks, farmers markets, shopping, movies, music especially live, entertainment etc.

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m on the internet often (Using my phone, ipad, laptop and TV) and like to read.
Books: Kite Runner, Stieg Larson’s Trilogy, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
Music (idealy with dancing): a few that I like are Orchestra Mustachio (local), DJ Leif (local), Armen, Daughtry, James Morrison, Alanis Morissette, Emiliana Torrini, Thievery Corporation, The Black Keys, Citizen Cope, Ray La Montagne, Maroon 5.
Comedies: Nothing really offends me and I like all kinds of comedians.
Plays: Love edgy, progressive and interesting plays.
TV: Modern Family, Girls, Bar Rescue, Big Bang Theory, Saturday Night Life are a few things I watch (not a big TV watcher).
Movies: I like romantic, action and comedy movies whether local or foreign, big hits or indy movies; as long as there is feel good outcome at the end or some hot actions, and yes, the story does matter too (Not all of Brad Pit and George Clooney’s movies are great, some were actually less than ok).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Growing up in Pakistan and Dubai and moving to US at age 21. All three are part of who I am today and am very grateful for it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Every person has something to offer the other especially when they are from two different parts of the world. I believe in learning about life from others and am keen about sharing what I know especially about the place I live at and cultures I know.
