About Me

Only able to host 27th to 30th of June.

I'm a commercial pilot and a graphic designer. I've lived in New Zealand, Malaysia, Australia, China, Korea, Denmark and the U.S. and I've traveled in around 57 countries. I do freediving, spearfishing and yoga, and I can hold my breath for 5 minutes. I'm very passionate about baking sourdough bread, pizzas and cooking Thai food, and I keep trying to find new ways to experiment with and perfect my cooking.

I'm a tall, respectful and very calm person.

"If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever."

"Ships are safe in harbour. But that is not what ships are built for."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hosted over 130 couchsurfers in Copenhagen, Denmark and I've surfed around 40 couches all over the world. At the moment I'm available to meet up with and maybe host people.

Spearfishing, freediving, hot yoga, scuba diving, surfing, bodyboarding, underwater photography, aviation, cooking, baking, herbal teas, pimping out my bicycle and chilling out in the sun!

Music, Movies, and Books

Any kinds of music really, but mainly electronic, indie, jazzy. Reading mostly stuff like Haruki Murakami, Dalai Lama, Arthur C. Clarke, Ray Bradbury, photography books, graphic design related books.. all kinds of stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many things..

Flying a small plane to The Bahamas and back, surviving a shipwreck in Micronesia, being surrounded by thousands of glow worms in a dark forest in New Zealand, carrying sugarcane on a small subtropical island in Southern Japan, freediving in a lake full of jellyfish in Palau, scuba diving inside a sunken ferry on 30m, then losing my buddy and running out of air at the same time, doing two 10-day Vipassana meditation retreats, climbing 10km of the great wall of China, riding a train through tea plantations in the mountains of Sri Lanka, too many things, can't think of anymore right now..

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you breath hold and freediving techniques, how to bake bread in a Korean stone pot and how to make a bad ass pizza on a cast iron pan.
