ABOUT ME

I am 79 years old, retired but active, Jain by religion and strictly vegetarian.. I am a Science graduate with PG Diploma in Purchasing and Materials Management. I have worked for 50 years in Management cadre in Large Corporate companies manufacturing Electric Motors, Power /Distr. Transformers, Copper winding wires/strips, Castings, Dyes & Chemicals, Sugar/Confectioney & its machinery, Fire Engines/Extinguishers/Equipment, Marine Cargo Containers and Garments.My 2 sons and 2 daughters (one in USA) are well qualified and hold high positions in the Corporate world. I am the President of KDO Sr.Citizens Dig.Club of Mumbai and member of social organisations like JITO, KDO Klassik, Mumbai Railway Passengers Asscn FESCOM, Mumbai and Matunga Jain Temple trusts.    

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living a good life helping my family, relatives,friends and community as much as possible. My religion teaches the Scientific Law that each action has a reaction - good action has good reaction and good deeds bring good luck to oneself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Since I am a New Member, I have no experience of couchsurfing.

Interests

I love travelling and as President of our KDO Sr.Citizens Club, I conduct 4 to 15 day tours of popular historical - religious - hills/mountains - forts - temples - beaches all over India once every three months. I also collect coins/stamps, see movies, dramas, musical concerts every week with my wife who unfortunately passed away on 19th Dec.2011 after a brief illness

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My best friend advised me to start my own business as I had all the skills. I tried hard for six months but could not make any profit out of it. I gave up and took up a good job since I was well qualified. I changed to better jobs and prospered.

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to teach people how to live a happy and eventful life, set up & manage recreation centres and be helpful to others to overcome their sorrows/handicaps.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences of my visits to almost all the well known tourist places of India, Europe and USA. I have lived my entire life in the Mumbai and can show all visitors around the many attractions of this metropolitan city and places near about.
