Hello! I am an artist who grew up traveling all over the US, and I have found myself spending a lot of time these past few years meditating on what really makes me happy, why I chose my path, and what I actually value about the art I create.

I find the greatest joy when I am creating in the natural world with children, painting and design in conjunction with plays, new work, climate justice, and work that inspires community engagement. I love how art can push the boundaries of the way a community interacts with itself and views the stories children can tell. I love process and collaborating with people who inspire each other. I dream to build work all around the world that treats young artists as equals to adult artists, fosters a widened perspective, and provokes questions rather than provides answers.

I also have a growing presence and engagement with agriculture and the climate, and deep fascination with technology/science in conjunction with theatre. I have been working and living on a farm with incredible climate activists and people close to the land for the past year. This has synthesized into a passion for art and theatre that explores growth and behavioral patterns in nature as a reflection of patterns in human self and society. I am currently exploring projects relating to natural building/eco art, cycles & patterns, and dreams!

I am also just beginning to learn about my own heritage and ancestry, and am learning more and more about my Scottish ancestors. I am a descendant of Clan Baird, and am interested in learning more about my Scottish history!

My friend Iris will be traveling with me. She grew up on a farm in the Catskill Mountains of NY. She enjoys photography, writing, art, nature, and is passionate about social justice issues. She speaks a little Scottish Gaelic and grew up around Scottish American mountain music and culture so she’s very excited to explore the country!

I love traveling, and my mom and I did a trip a few years ago when I was studying abroad in London. She came to visit me and we travelled for a month around Europe, and she introduced me to Couchsurfing! I loved connecting with local people, learning about the local culture & spots/sharing my own, and making life-long friends! I am traveling to Scotland with my dear friend Iris for COP26 and we are staying after for a bit to explore the country. Both of us have significant Scottish heritage and are interested in deepening our roots to the country and meeting some amazing local people!

Love so many books!! I am a big epic fantasy/science fiction reader, but love just about everything from poetry to plays to romance to thriller. Some favorites are the Way of Kings, Dune, Outlander, American Gods, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, and Circe.

Some favorite musicians are Brown Bird, José González, Villagers, Lucy Dacus, and Simon & Garfunkel
