About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Limit my own carbon footprint; encourage people to fly less, and stay longer.

ABOUT ME

A pendulum between the "rock-n-roll lifestyle" of staying up late with too much beer, and the more centred life of arising early, practicing yoga, practicing my music, getting things done. I love all sorts of singing and dancing, both watching and participating.

PHILOSOPHY

Let love rule. Accept responsibility for my own actions. World leaders should be required to take dance classes and join in choirs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've only just come aboard, but will try to offer an anchor in North Wales for visitors. We'll see how it goes!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Emily and I have slept on dozens if not hundreds of random people's couches, beds and floors in our travels as Ember. We've found people to be amazingly kind, generous and not scary, whether in England, Wales, Holland, Spain, Mexico or the U.s.

Interests

acoustic music from all parts of the world, movies made by real people with a story to tell, organic vegetable growing, Reiki, yoga, massage . . .

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Sheltering Sky,
Music: Be Good Tanyas, Indigo Girls, Ani, Aretha, Bonnie Raitt, ancient sacred music, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Tracy Chapman, Eliza Carthy, Martha Tilston, my parents.
Books: short stories by Isaac Bashevis Singer, Dorothy Parker, Roald Dahl. Novels by Saul Bellow, Hemingway, Jane Austen. I love reading; let's trade books if you're done with yours!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Playing at Glastonbury festival was a big one, for me.
Visiting N. California's Redwood forests was wonderful.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: vegetable growing, French/Spanish, guitar, piano, funny yoga moves, where to find a good folk festival.
Learn: Welsh, more guitar techniques, clarinet, photography, motivation, meditation, building, DIY, time-management!
