ABOUT ME

I am very focused on the spiritual side of life, though I can get pulled into political discussions. I prefer not to, however. It sucks the energy right out of me.
Outdoors, I love biking, swimming, horseback riding, walking on the beach or hiking in the mountains. I am turning my home into a spiritual retreat.

PHILOSOPHY

Keep it simple. Just love. I call God the Beloved, as the Sufis do, and I try to live every moment aware of Jhes* presence.

*my new pronoun which means male and female. Why not? It's our language, we can do what we want with it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I get this, I really do. Trusting the Divine, loving all, serving all, living free. I'd love to bring this to everyone I know. So many people are imprisoned in dead end lives and have no idea that the Christ within holds the key. This is an avenue to express that.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did a 1500 mile bicycle ride for Earth Day in 2000 where I set out every day not knowing where I would be by sundown, getting assistance from churches and even the Society for Creative Anachronism. And that was BEFORE my transformation at a retreat with Neale Donald Walsch, author of "Conversations with God." Update as of December, 2010 - I couchsurfed across the country and it was really wonderful! I met a lot of great people and I hope to see them again in future travels! As I get settled in myself, perhaps they can come visit me, too...

Living in awareness of the Presence of the Beloved, healing, spreading joy, awakening to Heaven.

I'm currently working on making my home into a spiritual retreat. It's a 5400 sq ft. Spanish Colonial Revival with a wonderful view of the Organ Mountains, the Rio Grande and the lights of Las Cruces at night.

Music - Christian rock (though I wish it was called "spiritual rock") Newsboys, Delirious, Jars of Clay, Flyleaf, Casting Crowns, Chasen, lots more...
I grew up on Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, classic rock now, and I'm happy to listen to that when I am with people who are uncomfortable with Christian rock. I'm open to almost all types of music.
Also new age and world music like Enya and Lorena McKennitt.

My bicycle ride from Hilton Head Island, SC to Eagle Pass, TX, in the spring of 2000, raising awareness of environmental issues. It became a spiritual journey also, and I learned to trust Divine Guidance.

As a spiritual healer, I would love to serve anyone in need, and demonstrate spiritual healing and the truth that sets us free to live in joy to those who are open to it. I would love to meet other healers who can show me how to be more effective at healing and staying awake and aware all the time. (Edit 2/2/18 Not actively doing healing work at the moment. I need to work on my own healing and clearing. I spent the last few years saying goodbye to mybeloved parents. Edit 4/30/25 - I have not been active in doing physical healing work the last 3 years because of my relationship with my spiritual husband, who just transitioned into Heaven on March 1st. He was my healing partner, but he didn't work in the same way I did and didn't believe in spiritual healing. I need time and practice to reconnect.)

As a former massage therapist, I have some healing facilitation skills. Though I can't do deep tissue work anymore, I can still do some good work accompanied by Reiki. I am willing to do whatever I can to help my host, also. I won't leave a mess, I'll help clean them up!
