ABOUT ME

Do you think I'm a nerd? Well, if by nerd you think of those people that make costumes to wear at conventions, play video games, D&D, and read nothing but fantasy books...

Well then yeah, I guess I'm a nerd.

I volunteer at conventions and also enjoy other volunteer opportunities - it gives me to chance to feel like I'm being helpful, and meeting new people all at once.

Most of my life I've worked in bookstores, and if you've known many people who work in bookstores, you've probably got me pegged personality wise.

I grew up a preachers kid, and am still involved heavily in the church I go to now. I feel God's presence in my life and my faith is the most important thing to me.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life for God. I try to anyways. Ideally, I'd love to reach the point where I was able to put the needs of other's ahead of my own all the time. Not in the be-a-doormat-way, but more in the trust-the-universe-that-if-you-love-others-everything-will-be-ok way. I think the meaning of life is to connect with and mutually improve the lives of those around you. The more people I meet, the more lives I can bless and the more I open myself up to being blessed.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any official "couchsurfing.org" experiences - however, I often travel with groups to conventions and often end up with shared sleeping arrangements. Experiencing new things and making new friends all at once make these events truly epic and memorable.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a lot of fantasy stories or epic heroic stories in both my movies and books.

Unfortunately I'm not very good with discovering music, and I have a somewhat deficient collection. I find songs slowly and my playlist consists of nearly the same things it has for the past year. It's not that I hate music I just don't give myself as much exposure as I should.

I'm a big fan of podcasts. Favorites include RadioLab, The Moth, Nerdist, SModcast.
