I attempt every day not to waste my life trying to prolong it, but to use my time to create epic stories to pass on to those that come after me. So far, so good...
I'm the oldest of seven children, been in the Army National Guard ten years, been deployed twice to the middle east, have gone on road trips all over North America including Alaska. I have lived in the same city my whole life and have deep roots here, but I have traveled quite a bit and have many more places I want to visit. I have many friends and a large family, and am overwhelmed by the depth of the blessings I have received and try not to take it all for granted.
I tend toward the political right but have several friends who disagree with me, which I suppose is healthy. I believe in maximizing personal freedom, but I also strongly believe that a system which allows such freedom is only sustainable if occupied by citizens of strong ethical convictions, especially those morals which are outlined in the Judeo-christian belief system. I believe in individual responsibility for one's beliefs and actions, tempered with the understanding that mankind is fallen as a race and that grace must be extended to all in order to redeem us. ( I don't know if this is what they meant by philosophy, but this is the best I can come up with on short notice).

I spent four days at a college house in Birmingham AL last year while working as an extra on the film "42". It was a great experience, my hosts were gracious and generous and I would highly recommend using this website when you need an inexpensive place to stay for a little while. I've hosted on two occasions with trouble-free experiences both times and got to meet people from different backgrounds from mine.
I enjoy guns, going to the movies, discussing movies, meeting people from around the world, philosophizing and solving the world's problems late at night, solving difficult puzzles, locked-room mysteries, and helping people who can't help themselves...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Probably my road trip to Alaska with my brother and a close friend in 2006...we were gone about six weeks, we covered over 85% of the roads in Alaska, nearly hit a moose, saw bears on the side of the road, rafted down an icy cold river, drove through a railroad tunnel and rode a ferry with our trucks, and covered over 13,000 miles round trip. Both of them are now married with children, and I have realized we will likely never have a chance to do anything like that again. (By the way, Alaska is a LOT bigger than it looks in that map below!)

I'm knowledgeable about guns, security, a bit about US history, conservative thought, movies, and have been to the middle east twice (was bored out of my mind both times).
