About Me

CURRENT MISSION

just want to see more of the world... while trying as many new foods as possible

ABOUT ME

I'm a word nerd aka I love learning languages and find language fascinating. Thus ended up studying linguistics. I love Oregon. I grew up mostly barefoot in the beautiful countryside of the Willamette Valley w/ my hippie parents. I love being down to earth and limiting my impact on the environment. The Northwest of the USA has the best beers in the world. I happily challenge you to prove me wrong.

Personality wise, I try to see the humor in all things and I amuse myself. I speak my mind, have my own opinions, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't listen to yours. I'm happiest when I'm spending time w/ good people. I dislike trying to sum up who I am, but I've heard good things.

Currently flexitarian w/ strong veggie tendencies, but always a foodie first. I have yet to meet a dish I will not try. Update: I couldn't bring myself to try dog.

Also I don't smoke, but don't mind if you do. I'd rather go for a drink where I can have a good conversation than a club. Above all else I'm respectful.

PHILOSOPHY

day by day. I'm not in a rush to go anywhere, I just want to enjoying getting there.

I've recently falling in love w/ the meaning behind the Greek meander pattern (aka Greek key), which is that there is only the journey, no destination. And if you do happen to find your way back to the where you started, it's just the beginning of another journey. It also incorporates getting lost and still ending up where you need to be, which may be one of the best ways to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

being opened minded and always on the look out to experience new places and ppl. I love to listen and I get really excited when I travel (giddy really), I find just about anything fascinating (truth, balloons = endless hours of fun). If I can eat/learn/share recipes while I explore the world all the better. Any time I make someone smile.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first CS experience was in Istanbul where I was blessed w/ an awesome new friend, who made me feel like a local and told me wonderful stories while showing me around his city.

Overall- just good, kind, happy, shiny people.

Interests

languages, but we've covered that. talking to ppl, different cultures, food (I'm not sure if I can fully convey my love of food and cooking), trying new things, street art/graffiti especially when its commenting on society, the outdoors, biking, swimming, bodies of water (this includes puddles), podcasts, boba tea, green tea (I have become completely addicted from living in Morocco), good beer/wine, puzzles, yoga (stretching!), running, music, rainy days (remind me of home where ever I go), the night sky, snuggling up w/ a good book, photography!, my friends and laughter.
