About Me

I'm from Buffalo, NY and have been living in Japan for nearly five years total. I first came as a student but came back to teach work.

I've lived in Kyoto for a year now. I enjoy exploring the hidden gems of the city in my free time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people from around the world or even just in the area. It doesn't matter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to a different country like Japan as a whole was an amazing experience, if not the "THE EXPERIENCE" of my life. There was too many moments to describe in a few sentences. Just being in a new environment where you are challenged everyday to communicate, it is a very rejuvenating feeling. Simple necessities like finding food, directions and shelter are all of a sudden much more challenging yet rewarding when you begin to break the language barrier. Though I wasn't facing life or death situations, I've never felt more alive, more aware of the world.

It's that challenge that intrigues me to study more and more, as if reading a book for the second time, bound to find something I had missed the first time around.
