我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I CLIMBED THE IJEN MOUNTAIN

💬 I left Bali for Banyuwangi pretty late, then i stayed at miner’s house includes 5 people. All of them are miner except mama. The father is 55-years-old has begun his day early as many of the men here choose to do avoid the heat of the afternoon. He guided a couple German, a Dutchwoman and me to reach on the top of Ijen. We started the climb at 1:30am. The climb is a steep 2 hours ascent and we reached the crater’s rim at 3:30am. Papa lead us down to acidic lake to see blue fire up close. During normal condition, the sulphur fumes were still bearable. However, when we were there, the wind started blowing and the fumes become really overwhelming. We had to quickly back up to the rim to escape the smell. The descent to the lake takes about 30 minutes. Sunrise at the rim around 5:30am and we were unlucky because of cloudy Indonesia in February. But it was really really worth to experience and see the crater with my own eyes. Can not describe my feeling about Ijen once i reach the top of mountain and down to the lake
