About Me

Die hard optimist, multimedia artist, collector of hobbies and experiences, and chronic overuser of exclamation points!!! I love to dance in my kitchen while baking, wander through new places, and write poetry on the fly.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel for travel's sake is wonderful! The landscape is beautiful, the air is different, the noise on the streets has its own dialect, and everything has a new character. But I want to know the people that make up each region, the backbone, heart and soul of the place! I'm not in this for just a couch, I want to get to know you!

Interests

I studied anthropology, film, and fine art in university. These days my interested have grown and changed, but I'm still love chatting about them :)
These days I study Egyptian belly dance (raaqs sharqi) in my spare time and attend graduate school for social work. I dance, choreograph, and make my own costumes.
I'm also interested in yoga, kinesiology and intuitive stretching. I love taking classes and learning new things. I intend on being a lifelong student!
I love baking and these days have started getting into vegan baking as well as gluten-free.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love any music you can dance to, but that's not terribly specific because I'll dance to anything! These days I'm dancing to Maryam Saleh, Dr. Dog, and Blood Orange.
I like novels that are immersive, character driven, and play with the reader's understanding of the author's role- like work by John Fowles and Miranda July.
I like movies that start difficult conversations between friends, that open up new universes, that push the technical boundaries of film. But I'll watch anything once, often twice :)
