I am a simple girl that came from a small town in midwest USA. I wanted to see more of the world so I joined the military at 18 and set out on my own adventure. I met my husband in the military and we have lived in Mississippi, Germany, Ohio, Alaska, and soon to be South Carolina. I have been married for 11 years to my best friend who makes me laugh daily and am mom to 5 fun, free-spirited children. I left the military when my oldest son was born spend my days teaching and playing and trying to get the most out of life with my family. We are a homeschooling family because we know that kids grow up fast and we only have a short time with them so we want to spend as much of that time together as we can. We also believe that life and travel are the best teachers, so as a military family, homeschooling our children gives us lots of flexibility.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and I want my kids to meet plenty of diverse and interesting people. I feel like we are living in a world where people are so paranoid and distrustful of most people and I want to show my kids the opposite of that - that people are mostly good and want to help others if only given the opportunity.

Interests

My personal hobbies are knitting and crocheting. I like to cook and try new foods. I love children and am particularly interested in education, history, and religion.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like folk music, particularly English and Irish. My kids would probably say that they like rock and my husband is into heavy metal but can tolerate some of my folk music. I also like traditional Christian Hymns.
Okay, my husband says I am boring but I really like Documentaries. Doesn't matter the subject really. Our whole family are into the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movies.
