I'm a children's nurse, scuba diver, food and wine loving, photo taking, tea drinking, board game playing, coffee and cake obsessive ginger. I'm currently taking a year off work to travel although this hasn't been my first time on the road. So far I've been to New Zealand, Australia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar and Thailand (my favourites have been New Zealand and Myanmar since you didn't ask). Before I went to university I spent 5 months in Honduras and travelled in Peru and Bolivia. I love to see new places and cultures, meet new people, learn new things and hear new stories.

I would describe myself as a more laid back traveler. I'm not really into the party scene, I would much rather have a good meal, a nice glass of wine and a good conversation. I especially love Thai and Mexican food. I'm more interested in seeing what a city has to offer by day than just experiencing the nightlife.

I like to cook for myself (and others) and I think of myself as fairly easy going. I'm happy to socialise and make I friends easily but I'm also very independent and happy in my own company. I have a classically British sense of humour (dry and sarcastic so sorry about that in advance).

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

As a solo traveller I've been staying in hostels to meet other people but I've found that you get a very limited experience, you rarely meet people from the place you're in and often you meet people who are just looking to party rather than actually see the place.

I've joined couch surfing because I'd like to meet people from the areas I'm staying in and try to get a better understanding of the places I'm visiting. I see it as a good way to meet people and hopefully make some new friends! I have friends who use couch surfing and have aways recommend it and I like to try new things.

I'd like to share some interesting conversations, the occasional meal and bottle of wine and get the chance to experience some new cities/places through they eyes of a local.

I'm a massive Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter geek. I have a pretty broad range of movie tastes, I'm happy with both big action/superhero movies that keep me entertained or small independent films . I'm travelling with a whole host of movies that I'm always happy to share! The film that I've seen and loved most recently is Hunt for the Wilderpeople

I love theatre and the arts. Plays, live music, comedy and especially musical theatre - I'm currently obsessed with Hamilton and I'm also reading the biography that it's based on.

I love stories so genre isn't as important for me but any book (or film) that captivates me and makes me get lost in the plot is good by me.

The most amazing thing I've done recently is a 2 day trek from Kalaw to Inle lake in Myanmar. The whole experience was so incredible and the country so beautiful and the people so kind and welcoming that I could talk about it for days. In fact I could talk about Myanmar for days so only ask if you're really sure that you want to know!

oooooooh this is a hard one. Obviously I can share/teach my language where I can and I'd like to learn more languages (other than my vaguely passable, out of practice Spanish).

I've recently done a Thai and Vietnamese cooking course that I could try to share/practice on you.
I'm always happy to cook for others (food that I actually know how to make as well as just practising!). I like to try out new wines and interesting beers so I'm always happy to share a bottle!
I'd love to share conversations and interesting stories and hopefully share some experiences and make new memories.

I'm always willing to help out with things where I can, DIY, gardening, household stuff (I'm not necessarily saying I'm good at it but I can try. Or at least make the tea ).
