100 years of Solitude

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My 5 year old son was horrified by the treatment of children at our borders and wanted to take his toys to them. I asked his School PTA to vote in solidarity with the children on our fronteras, that the issue is not distant but affects many families in our own school community who are afraid of deportation/detention and family separation. They made that vote, tons of donations, so my son and I went on a huge adventure and created some amazing friendships. Now I’m organizing a legal clinic at our school with volunteer attorneys to cover immigration rights. Good mom moment I think.
