About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making the most of my golden years, composing devastating tweets, seeing as much live music as I can.

ABOUT ME

Compassionate, super liberal, skeptical, animal lover, trustworthy, atheist, honest, blunt but amazingly tolerant.

PHILOSOPHY

I am an atheist, and a skeptic. I believe we only have one life, and we have an obligation to be as good as possible to the people and animals around us. I am LGBT friendly, and am tolerant of differences...even religion...but don't try to convert me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a couchy thing that folds down, making it the size of a double bed. Floor space available also. I live in the woods in a highly bucolic setting. Peaceful, beautiful. 7 miles from the C&O Canal, I can come pick you up in Paw Paw if you're biking the canal. 35 miles to Berkeley Springs, WV; Romney, WV; Cumberland, MD. 40 miles to Winchester, VA

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any experiences through this site, but as a teenager I hitch-hiked all over the country and stayed with a lot of people...those were the days. That is part of the reason I am drawn to couchsurfing. Meeting new people, especially in driving distance of home.

Interests

Because I am disabled by a pain condition, I spend too much time on the internet. I like skepticism, liberal politics, music (Alt/Neo-Traditional Country, Americana, Hip Hop, blues, jazz) my friends, going to DC, activism, and my DOGS. I live in a house in the woods, and enjoy the peace and quiet, even though I have always thought of myself as a city person. I made this play list on Spotify to give an update to my musical tastes. https://open.spotify.com/embed?uri=spotify%3Auser%3A125050625%3Aplaylist%3A1Gs6TIJFLU5y22faKrOdDq

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I saw the ocean, I had hitch-hiked to Boston, then out to Cape Cod. I climbed up, over a sand dune, and there it lay before me...I was 17, and I'll never forget it.

The first time I saw the Grand Canyon...I had seen pictures, but could never have imagined.

When I looked out the window and saw a bear walking across my front yard.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My dreary yet sparkling humor. Vast repository of useless information about music and musicians. Many opinions, especially about the 2016 election, but willing to keep them to myself. Enthusiasm to meet new people and make connections.
