Overview
About Me
Im a PhD student living in central Aberystwyth. I love the outdoors and try to get away every weekend or at least go on a mini adventure from home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After one year away (well probably more like 10 months) im back in the sea-side welsh town of Aberystwyth. Its definitely the best town in wales, and probably even the UK! Its so nice its hard to stay away for long!
I have been living in big house shares for a few years but now i live in a 2 bed flat and it feels much too quiet!
Im away quite often at weekends but would be very happy for people to stay a night or two during the week, especially as accommodation (B&B and hotel) can be quite expensive here.
I have one double bed in the spare room and am happy to host individuals, couples and people willing to share the same bed (i don't think theres much space on the floor).
Interests
Im a super keen kayaker and climber and most of my weekends are spent doing one or the other (or both!) usually in North Wales. I also enjoy slacklineing when the weather is good and there are lots of nice places in and around Aber to do it.
- bouldering
- outdoor activities
- hiking
- kayaking
- sports
- rock climbing
- swimming
- cartography
- rivers
What I Can Share with Hosts
Ive been living in Aber for severn years or so and know this area of mid Wales very well. I work during the day, but i can direct people to where the best walks, hikes, sights to see, rivers to paddle, places to wild-swim, places to surf/kiteboard etc. I also have maps and sports kit (boulder mat, climbing harness, kayaking kit, climbing and kayaking guidebooks, etc) that im happy for people to borrow if they need.
As i spend most my weekends up north so know the area very well - particualy the best rivers to paddle, where to (and where not to!) climb and where to stay.
