About Me

CURRENT MISSION
To live boldly, learn endlessly, dance often, and connect deeply, with people, places, and ideas
Collect experiences, not things. (inspired by " Catch flights, not feelings)

PHILOSOPHY

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.
---- Mark Twain

ABOUT ME
From China, I’ve traveled and couchsurfed across Asia and Europe, and now I’m based in New York City. It’s been more than 10 years since I first couchsurfed, and the people I’ve met and the stories we’ve shared are things I wouldn’t trade for anything.
I’m equally happy hiking a remote trail, wandering a European backstreet, or cooking up something experimental in the kitchen (don’t worry, I’m much better now than the time I almost burned down my boyfriend’s kitchen — he’s still with me, so I must be doing something right).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing has been part of my life for over a decade. For me, it’s not just about having a place to stay, it’s about feeling the heartbeat of a place through the people who live there. Every host has shown me something I couldn’t find in a guidebook( not even the OG lonlyplanet)

Couchsurfed in: Korea, China, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, France, Greece, Italy… Every one of these experiences is priceless.

Interests

Travel • Dance (especially swing) • Cooking (sometimes experimental, often delicious, i think) • Music(jazz soul, funk and some pop) • Good conversation over coffee or wine • Learning about local culture and hidden spots

  • food
  • swing dance

Music, Movies, and Books

Book: The road less traveled
Movie: Midnight in Paris

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

• Hitchhiked in Tibet for a month
• Brought my Mom to backpacking + hitchhiking with me in Thailand for 28days

Teach, Learn, Share

I can cook for you (I promise your kitchen will survive), and I’d be happy to share some swing dance moves if you’d like. I can also share stories from my travels and learn from yours.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A meal, a dance, and great conversation. I’m independent but love joining for activities if you’re up for it.
