ABOUT ME

I'm an English teacher at an all-girls private school just north of New York City. While I live near New York City now, I grew up four hours north of the city in the countryside.

PHILOSOPHY

Living a meaningful life is important to me, and I interpret that in different ways in different moments! Right now, "meaningful" means investing in my relationships. I'm in the midst of figuring out what "meaningful work" looks like--international education development or teaching itself.

I'm new to couch surfing, but looking forward to my first experiences!

Intereses

I enjoy being outside, hiking, reading, trying new foods...! I'm interested in Renaissance literature and history, international development, critical thinking, teaching methodologies, etc!

Música, películas y libros

My favorite novel is Hemingway's For Whom the Bell Tolls. I've been listening to a lot of Mumford & Sons lately; I really enjoy Ingrid Michealson. For movies, while I love the thought-provoking ones, I usually turn to movies for relaxation, which means a lot of comedies!

When living in Thailand, my roommate and I got too close to a snake in the forest--and it reared its ugly head and hissed--cobra! I am now a much more careful adventurer!
