About Me

Hello!

As of July this year I have begun travelling and exploring the world which I plan to do on and off for the next year or two.

In Myanmar now for the month of October!

I joined CS a few years ago, intrigued by the possibility of encountering beautiful interesting strangers that could become friends, and enjoying being in someone elses homespace, away from the at times impersonal vibe of a hostel or hotel. It's taken me a while to actually use, but here I am, a CS newbie!

What I try to do through all of my interests, hobbies, travels and friendships is to be present as much of the time as possible and soak in all the beauty this world has to offer. Create a life that's fun and feels good.

Curious about things I do not yet know and understand, always striving to be open and try something new even (sometimes especially) if it's challenging.

Upcoming destinations: Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The main reason I'm on couch surfing is to meet people, make friends and get a sense of the area I'm staying in.

As a couch surfer I aim to be an easy going and respectful guest.

Interests

- listening to music and having a dance.
- being outdoorsy whether that's by hiking or camping or strolling around in nature.
- a good cuppa of tea and a D and M.
- Sketching and painting (currently getting back in to it through travel sketching) and watercolour painting.
- Film photography.
- Meditation/ mindfulness.
- Eating things that make me feel good, recently trying out being a vegan (sometimes) and fasting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Bon Iver, Jose Gonzales, Matt Corby, Ehrling, Leon Bridges and J Cole are a few of artists I've recently been listening to...

There's a place for all genres! Recently I loved Trad music sessions in Ireland while sipping a guinness and psy-trance music while having an epic dance in Sri Lanka.

Books:
'Why we Sleep' by Matthew Walker recently blew my mind.
'12 rules for life' by Jordon Peterson.
'Laws of Human' nature by Robert Greene.
'Anam Cara' by John O'Donaghue.

Movies: I'll watch anything except horror movies and the really rom-commy movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moved to a remote Indigenous community in Australia and began my first job out of uni teaching in a bi-lingual school.

Vipassana meditation

Teach, Learn, Share

Always open to teaching, sharing and learning. Any of the interests I have listed above I'd enjoy discussing and having a go at with a host. On my travels I'd love to learn new skills and about topics I don't already know about, anything a host would be interested in sharing.

Love the opportunity to cook as it's not so easy on the road, let me feed you!

Crafternoon, anybody?

Love a good philosophical chat, if you have any existential dilemmas, talk to me :-)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer good stories and company and I enjoy cooking so would love to cook my host a tasty meal!
