I am a native Californian from about 25km outside of San Francisco that received my BA in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. I'm very passionate about what I study and a favorite pastime of mine is to hear about other peoples passions over a coffee or beer :) I would characterize myself as personable, adventurous, funny (maybe only to myself), and I've been told many times that I'm down to Earth. I love to learn something new and am constantly seeking new adventures with the people I meet around the world. A few more silly things about me: I'm 27, a student, love singing in the shower, a cat enthusiast, a travel nerd, a scifi book lover, and I bartend back in San Francisco! In my life I strive to become a renaissance woman, and would love to learn new languages, trades like woodworking or alcohol distillation, water sports (ie surfing, SUPing, wakeboarding etc), excellent cooking practices, to play the guitar and piano, law and more about physics, and so so much more.

My musical preference differs vastly based on what I'm doing. When I study, I love to listen to classical and new age piano music. In the mornings I love to accompany my coffee with some old jazz. When I'm cleaning or in the shower, anything I can sing loudly to. When I am running, electronic music or rap. Recently I have enjoyed reggae but don't know very many artists. And overall find that there is a time and place for every type of music!
My favorite books would have to be Into the Wild, Outliers, 1984, Brave New World, The Road, Ender's Game, the entire Harry Potter series.
Favorite movie is a tough question, because I don't find that I watch movies frequently. I suppose Inception is the most readily available in my mind because it was an interesting concept and visually stunning cinematography!

A favorite memory of mine is going swimming in a lake by the famous Bondhusbreen glacier in Hordaland county (Norway).. it was the coldest thing I have ever experienced, but definitely one of the most unforgettable moments in my life.

Some things I am inclined to learn outside of academia include: yoga, kick-boxing, piano, guitar, music theory, to bake amazing pastries, slacklining, brewing, another language, techniques in sustainable agriculture, and techniques in photography
