About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To love.

ABOUT ME

I am a happy person. Perhaps and understatement.

I love the details of life and tend to find beauty in the big and the small. I get excited by most things.
I think people are fascinating and love getting to know them, their stories, their thoughts and passions.

I'm a Chritian and think JC was a pretty cool dude. I love the time I've been given on Earth and want to make the most of it. Money doesn't interest me and getting a well paid job to me isn't as important as people and relationships.

I love floating in the middle of the ocean on my back, walking off the path and finding new fun places to explore, getting lost with good company, playing on swings, breaking into spontaneous song and dance, talking to strangers, people watching, ant watching, eating McFlurrys in foregin countries, climbing mountains, feeding squirrels and reading books in open spaces.

PHILOSOPHY

Understanding will fix the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As people, we all have a lot to learn off one another. I lived in community with 18 other volunteers from all over the world and it's so enriching learning about their cultures and lives. CS is an amazing way of linking up the world, and not only half-experiencing a place by seeing the sites but by experiencing the most important bit of all... the people that live there!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was introduced to CS when the Iceland Volcano stopped me getting back from my holiday. I joined a CS friend and in one week stay with three amazing different hosts whose generosity and beautiful personalities inpired me to join up and give pass on the experience for others.

Interests

Singing, songwriting, playing the piano and guitar, swimming, laughing, acting, dancing, exploring, charcoal drawing, (I'm not good at it but I really love going to new locations and just... drawing) running, high adrenaline producing activites. e.g. bungee jumping

Music, Movies, and Books

Amelie is the coolest movie EVER. Once and The Pianist are also brilliant.
C.S. Lewis is my mostest favouritest writer with Kahlil Gibran following at close second.
Aaaaaaaand music. Well. Brooke Fraser, and Jack Johnson still are my foundational favourites.

Also Bright Eyes, Ben Harper, Switchfoot, One Republic, Missy Higgins, Regina Spektor, Nora Jones, Matt Costa, James Morrison, Simon and Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, John Mayer, The Cardigans, Tim and Neil Finn, Relient K, Newton Faulkner, Coldplay... aaaaah. Just... lots.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wrote a musical and had it performed. That was super fun. I took a year out and worked part time as a 'Postie' (person who delivers mail part time) so I could take the time to write music in the afternoons. A year later, the Musical 'Garbo of the Sky' was performed. MUCH fun.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd say music. I'm not uba professional but I love it and if there's anything I can teach someone about playing guitar, piano, singing or songwriting, then I'll gladly teach it.
